Maintenance Lifts
Maintenance lifts are mechanical devices used to handle materials or lift workers to repair airplanes, to wash windows, to repair power lines, work on rooftops or other difficult to reach spots. Maintenance lifts also hoist cars up so that mechanics can work without lying underneath a car, which can impede the process.
Types of Maintenance Lifts
There are at least a dozen or more types of mechanical maintenance lifts available for a variety of industrial uses. Telescopic lifts can reach a height of 40 feet, and provides a stable platform on which to stand. The base consisting of a set of 6 wheels can be moved around, and set up quickly for a variety of uses. The lift is battery operated with a laser locator to position the lift to just the right position. These lifts can be used on tile, wood, or gymnasium floors, and also be moved close to a wall – to change letters on a scoreboard, for example.
Stockpickers retrieve stock, lift personnel, and lift materials. They also provide access to overhead lighting fixtures and stocked shelves. They are safer than ladders or regular scaffoldings, because they provide adjustable guardrails and slip resistant metal decks on which to stand while stocking shelves or retrieving merchandise.
Cougar lifts are mounted on 2 swiveling casters, and two locking swivel casters, and are constructed of dual, high strength leaf chain for maximum lift. These lifts provide a complete guardrail around the cage, and an emergency down valve for extra safety, as well as adjustable self-storing, easy-to-use outriggers and are used for indoor and outdoor lighting maintenance, renovations, painting, and various industrial maintenance functions.
Trailer lifts are used to tow machinery, such as scissors lifts, party equipment, appliances, skid steer loaders, farm equipment, forklifts, and off road vehicles, and even pianos. Other forms of maintenance lifts come in platform, scissors, and portable lift table models and are useful for a variety of industrial and maintenance functions that require heavy lifting. Load platforms are used on loading docks and can be either manually or hydraulically or electrically operated for speed loading of very heavy loads, coming in a variety of sizes and styles to fit space and task requirements.
